NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE STUDENTS  ON STUDY VISIT AT DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS

The Chief of Defence Forces, General Francis Ogolla, has today 28th November 2023 hosted the National Defence College (NDC) course 26-2023/2024 participants at the Defence Headquarters, Nairobi.

The NDC staff and course students led by the College Commandant Major General Rashid Elmi were on a study tour at the Defence Headquarters where they were apprised of Kenya’s perspective of National security and her response towards threats.

In his address, the Chief of Defence Forces emphasized the critical role of the Kenya Defence Forces in ensuring national security and underscored the importance of their studies at the NDC.

“As future leaders in defence, your education at the NDC is integral to developing the strategic thinking necessary for addressing these challenges,” he said.

General Ogolla additionally, highlighted the ongoing security challenges and the need for a flexible and quick-thinking force coupled with a comprehensive understanding of contemporary defence issues to remedy the ever-evolving security complexities.

Moreover, he also encouraged the students to actively engage with the experts and professionals at the Headquarters, in seeking to learn and understand the practical applications of the theories they study at the college.

The CDF at the same time expressed optimism that the study visit would enhance the students’ academic knowledge in addition to, fostering a sense of shared commitment to the nation’s defence.

Accompanying the CDF were Assistant Chief of Defence Forces in charge of Operations, Plans, Doctrines and Training Major General Frederick Leuria, Major General Fatuma Ahmed, Senior Directing Staff Air, senior officers and officers.
