SENIOR LEADERSHIP COURSE COMMENCES
The Commander Kenya Navy Base (KNB) Mtongwe Brigadier Yahya Abdi today, Wednesday 26 April 2023 presided over the opening ceremony of Senior Leadership Course (SLC) at 15 KR – Mariakani, Kilifi County.
In his speech, Brig Abdi noted that SLC is a career defining course that will have a direct bearing on the participants’ career progression.
” You must put your best foot forward and be the best version of yourself. Your discipline and hardwork should be unquestionable throughout the duration of this course,” emphasized Brig Abdi.
He further urged the course participants to embrace the spirit of KAIZEN in all their undertakings.
“Aim to continuously improve yourselves by gaining knowledge, not only to improve the quality of the output in your work places but also to enable you provide quality mentorship to your subordinates,” he added.
The Commandant Kenya Naval Training College (KNTC) Colonel Eliud Keter welcomed the SLC participants to the course and stated that the course is an important milestone not only for their careers but also in their life in general, for it will shape their thinking and consequently their decision making processes.
” Taken in totality, this course will shape your future social and professional life aspects in terms of competencies gained,” said the Commandant.
SLC is aimed at equipping the participants with knowledge and skills in leadership, command and management necessary to meet challenges they face in their various areas of deployment either in the Kenya Navy or the Kenya Defence Forces at large.
Present during the Course opening ceremony were Senior Officers, Officers and Service Members.
