In swimming, the sailors competed in the breastroke, backstroke and frontal crawl strokes of swimming.

Speaking during the event, Commander Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe Brigadier Peter Chelimo thanked the Sailors for their efforts in remembering and celebrating the fallen heroes and heroines.

“On this auspicious event, Kenya Navy remembers the gallant Sailors who paid the ultimate price for the sake of peace in Kenya’s territorial waters. I urge all of you to pull together as one force adhering to the vision of KDF and guiding dictum of One Force One Mission.”

Kenya Navy salutes the brave men and women of KDF for their unwavering dedication, sacrifice and resilience in protecting Kenya’s territorial boundaries.
