KDF TROOPS IN SOMALIA MARK WORLD AIDS DAY AT AFMADOW HOSPITAL

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops operating in Somalia under the Africa Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) today commemorated the World Aids Day by sensitizing the Somalia community members on HIV/AIDs at Afmadow.

Led by the Commanding Officer 3 Mechanized Infantry Battalion Lieutenant Colonel Joel Tanui and the Officer Commanding Major David Micha, the troops visited the sick at Afmadow District Hospital and conducted a cleanup exercise at the facility. Further, the troops donated foodstuffs and chairs to the hospital before planting trees at the hospital garden.

KDF under AMISOM continues to support communities at the various areas of deployment within Somalia as stabilization efforts continue.
