Defence Savings and Credit Co-operative Society (DESACCO) has today, 20 September 2022, held it’s annual induction course at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.
The three-day course facilitated by the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO) is set to equip staff members within DESACCO with knowledge and understanding of the general framework of SACCOs.
While opening the training Chief of Finance, Brigadier Sammy Kipng’etich, highlighted the importance of the training to the staff members urging them to take all topics seriously. He further encouraged different departments to learn and benchmark on critical topics such as data protection, management of funds and service delivery from KUSCCO.
On the same platform, he implored the staff to embrace integrity, honesty and be diligent at their work as the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) fraternity has put its trust in them. “Responsibilities of managing DESACCO lies on this group; therefore the entire KDF is confident in you,” he noted.
DESACCO was established with the intent of uplifting KDF Service Personnel social economic well being, and operates under SACCO Societies Regulatory Authority (SASRA).
Chief Executive Officer DESACCO, Colonel Nehemia Kemei, representatives from KUSCCO, Senior Officers, Officers and Service Members were present during the session.
