On Wednesday 02 August 2023, the KDF Construction Engineers Brigade Commander, Brigadier Joseph Mutua, conducted an inspection tour to the ongoing renovation and reconstruction of schools project in the North Rift under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ Multi agency team. Among the schools he visited were Chesitet Primary School, Kositei Primary School in Baringo County and Kapedo Mixed Secondary in Turkana county.
During the visit, the Brigade Commander commended the engineer’s troops noting the efforts and energy portrayed all through since the project started in renovation of school and setting up of new structures like classrooms, ablution blocks, water points, teachers accommodations among others. In his address to the troops at Chesitet camp, he lauded the milestones achieved in pacifying the region as he affirmed more continued support.
The teachers and learners who spoke at their specific institutions hailed the schools project saying it has boosted the morale of students and created a more enabling learning environment.
The Brigade Commander was in company of Commanding Officers 18 Construction Battalion and 20 Parachute Battalion.
