COMMANDER KAF VISITS DEFTEC

Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF) Major General John Omenda on 4th May 2022 visited the Defence Forces Technical College (DEFTEC) at Embakasi Garrison.

DEFTEC is a constituent college of National Defence University – Kenya (NDU-K) focused on training technical human resource, leveraging on Modern Technology, for the Kenya Defence Forces.

During the visit, Commander KAF toured the college departments and facilities including laboratories, students’ accommodations, DEFTEC’s printing press and the Eastern Command Headquarters before planting a tree at the institution.

Major General Omenda took the opportunity to award the best students and instructors before addressing them.

In his speech, Commander KAF congratulated the students and encouraged them to give their best in the various courses they were undertaking to acquire knowledge.

“The Kenya Defence Forces fraternity depends on the skills and knowledge you obtain from this institution, therefore do your best and improve on what you learn,” he encouraged the students.

Commandant DEFTEC, Col Bernadette Kikech appreciated the visit by the Commander KAF saying that it was a morale booster to the Service Personnel.

Present during the visit were Chief Instructor DEFTEC Lieutenant Colonel (Dr) John Kisilu, Senior Officers, Officers and Service Members.
