‘OMU’ STRIVES MORE IN PACIFYING BARINGO COUNTY

The Multi-agency troops deployed under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ in conjunction with Baringo County Government and Christian Impact Mission (CIM) took part in the launch of the construction project of Silale Mission Centre at Naudo, Silale in Baringo County. The event was presided by Baringo County Governor, H.E Benjamin Cheboi.

With the Mission Centre being the first ever to be built in the whole Silale Ward, the residents who turned up in large numbers welcomed the gesture, saying it will serve as a platform for sharing the vision of a peaceful and prosperous region through strategic partnerships. owing to the collaboration between the multi-agency security team and all stakeholders, the area is poised for accelerated development and enhanced service delivery.

During the address, the stakeholders urged the residents to collaborate with all partners striving to change the image of Silale which over the years has been termed as the epicenter of banditry activities. They also lauded a group of elderly men and women who decided to enroll in school programs and deserted criminal activities like production of illicit brews where they surrendered over a dozen drums used to make ‘chang’aa. This served as a huge milestone of the transformation process in Silale ward.

The Multi agency troops led by Commander Army Special Operation Brigade, Brigadier Ahmed Saman and Mr. Peter Masai SSP, later conducted a joint patrol around the hot spot areas in Silale as well as distributing water to schools in the area. The local population appreciated the efforts from the security forces in restoration of peace and rebirth of socio-economic activities.
