KENYA NAVY MUSLIMS DONATE FOOD TO MASJID SHAKOMBO

Kenya Navy Muslim fraternity led by the Commanding Officer Kenya Navy Base Mtongwe Lieutenant Colonel Dickens Kombo last week, in the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, donated assorted food items to the Muslim community at Masjid Shakombo, Vijiweni area in Likoni.

The Commanding Officer encouraged peaceful co-existence among locals and urged them to share with the less fortunate in enhancing harmony in the neighbourhood.

Imam Major Idris Omar said giving to the less fortunate attracts a great reward from Allah and the same should be practiced during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

“Sharing is a hallmark of Ramadan and the giving spirit is a beautiful aspect where everybody feels equal and blessed,” said the Imam.

The Holy Month of Ramadan is observed worldwide by all Muslims whereby fasting is seen as a way to cleanse the soul and have empathy for those who are hungry and less fortunate.
