Kenya Defence Forces troops from 25 Mechanized Infantry Battalion(MIB) operating under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ stationed at Kirimun, in collaboration with Beyond Zero Campaign and Ministry of Health medical team from Laikipia County conducted a free medical camp at Lekasuya, Kirimun Location in Laikipia North Sub-County.
The residents benefited from free medical services such as; general medical check-ups which included upper respiratory conditions, skin conditions, ENT, deworming and Mother-Child care. The medical team managed to treat more than 200 patients majority of whom were women, children and the elderly.
The team was led by Major Shadrack Ngetich who encouraged the locals to co-exist peacefully and give support to the security agencies to ensure peace is maintained. He also guided them to report any suspicious activities via the National Government Administration Officers and National Police Service.
The locals expressed their gratitude to the KDF and Beyond zero for their initiative of providing free medical services to them.
The multi-agency team continues to support the local community in efforts to overcome the social-economic challenges experienced in the area and also foster good relations between the security forces and the local populace.
