KDF CONDUCTS COMMUNITY OUTREACH IN SOMALIA

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops operating in Somalia under the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) recently donated foodstuffs and held a medical camp at Burahache and Gherile that benefited over 250 families.

The troops donated rice, wheat flour, beans, maize flour and sugar with an aim of cushioning the residents against the ongoing food scarcity occasioned by prolonged drought in the region and treated common ailments among area residents.

Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Jackson Komen reiterated KDF’s commitment to improving the livelihood of the residents in the area.

Somalia’s Elwak District Commissioner Mr. Ibrahim Guled Adan and his counterpart in Gherile Mohamed Warsame expressed their gratitude to KDF for the kind gesture and pledged continued support to the troops in fighting Al Shabaab terrorists.
