KDF troops deployed under Operation Amani Boni, together with locals and Ijara Constituency area MP Hon Abdi Ali Abdi yesterday celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the month-long fasting of Ramadhan.
During the celebrations, Hon Abdi reiterated the importance of cordial relationships and cooperation between the community and security agencies operating in the region.
“As the world marks Eid-ul-Fitr, I call upon this blessed day for sustainable peace and economic development, lets’s unite and support the troops that have for the longest time been ensuring security is attained in the area.” He said.
The locals appreciated KDF troops, especially for the construction of four (4) classrooms at Sinai primary school which has boosted learning in the border village. The school has so far attracted over 160 pupils and has now enrolled up to grade two pupils. The area MP promised to support the school further.
The troops distributed assorted food items as well as participated in a football match with the locals.
