COLLABORATING FOR ENVIRONMENTAL CONSERVATION IN MOYALE

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops undertaking close operations in Moyale in collaboration with Kenya Forest Service (KFS) officers took part in a tree planting exercise within Moyale Forward Operating Base on 25 April 2024.

Led by Officer Commanding (OC) Major Rowland Muchira, the troops from A Company 27 Mechanized Infantry Battalion planted over 1000 seedlings provided by KFS as part of KDF’s Environmental Soldier Program.

The OC thanked the KFS for providing seedlings to support the government’s target of planting 15 billion trees by 2032.

Inspector Ibrahim Adan of KFS commended the KDF for being a committed partner to environmental conservation and increasing forest cover across the country.
