VALUE OF A MUSLIM WOMAN

Muslim Women soldiers together with spouses to Muslim Military Personnel, were today 14 March 2023, treated to a Muslim Women Seminar held at Lang’ata Barracks.

The seminar which is a first of it’s kind, provided a platform for the women to exchange ideas and share challenges they face as Muslim women, while consequently, imparting the women with knowledge on matters marriage, values of a Muslim woman and the dynamics of the role of ladies in Islam, in preparation for Ramadhan.

Addressing the women during the seminar, Staff Officer 1 (SO1) Muslim, Kenya Army, Lieutenant Colonel Athman Rajab, commended Muslim women soldiers who have served in the Military for quite some time, for maintaining the Islamic culture despite the various challenges they face as soldiers.

He further urged the women to uphold the values of family, and bring their children close to them saying,  “Our children are our investments, spare time for them.”

Additionally, guest speaker and Islamic teacher Ms. Ummu Yasir, expounded on the topic  ‘Value of a Muslim Woman,’ while,  referencing the Holy Quran which explains the value of a woman and her responsibility and roles in the family and the society in general. She implored on the women to practice patience in their marriages and distance themselves from ways that are contrary to the Quran teachings.

The end of the seminar was marked by a question and answer session, where the women engaged the Islamic teachers on issues that affect them as Muslim women.
