UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI STUDENTS VISIT THE KENYA NAVY

Students from the Geospatial Engineering Department in the University of Nairobi on 30 Sept 2021 paid a visit to the Kenya Navy Headquarters.

The one-day visit was aimed at familiarizing the students with industrial practical aspects related to Geospatial Engineering and Nautical Charts used for navigation at sea. It was also geared towards fostering a cordial and mutual relationship between the Kenya Navy and the University.

During their visit, the students were taken on a guided tour in the Full Mission Bridge Simulator (FMBS) at Kenya Navy Training College. The students also visited the Kenya Navy Fleet where they boarded Kenya Navy Ship (KNS) Jasiri.

The visit by the students is a continued partnership adopted by the Kenya Navy in ensuring cooperation with local universities which is geared towards providing professional and technical training to meet navigational requirements at sea.
