THE 5TH ANNUAL KDF MEDICAL CONSULTANTS TECHNICAL REVIEW MEETING KICKS OFF

The Director Medical Services Major General (Dr) George Ng’ang’a on 7th Sept 2022 officially opened the 5th Annual KDF Medical Consultants Technical Review meeting in Naivasha.

The two-day review workshop brought together KDF Medical Consultants and partners to gauge the milestones KDF has achieved in HIV/AIDS epidemic control and how to better improve the medical needs of all uniformed personnel and their families in line with this year’s theme of “Sustaining Gains Made in KDF’s HIV/AIDS Epidemic Control.”

In his address, Maj Gen (Dr) Ng’ang’a pinpointed the strides by KDF in the provision of medical services within Military establishments geared towards improving service delivery to its members. He highlighted the upgrades hospitals as well as partnering with civilian consultants and jointly with the United States Army Medical Research Directorate Africa (USAMRD-A) in testing, improving means for predicting, detecting, preventing, and treating infectious diseases.

Appreciating the long standing relationship, Director United States Army Medical Research Directorate – Africa (USAMRD-A), Col Shannon Lacy acknowledged KDF’s tremendous efforts in HIV/AIDS control among its members urging the leadership to continue in the fight against the epidemic towards the realization of a health force that can protect the Nation.

Further, the Consultants’ forum deliberated at length on various ways of improving grey areas that hinder the full realization of a free HIV/AIDS environment.
