Arch Bishop of the Anglican Church of Kenya, Most Rev.Dr. Jackson Ole Sapit, has today presided over a liturgy for confirmation of new members to Kenya Anglican Men’s Association, Mothers’ Union, and licensing of lay Leaders at Saint Michael’s Cathedral, Nairobi in an event graced by Vice Chief of Defence Forces Lt. General Francis Ogolla.
In his sermon, the Most Rev Jackson Sapit, urged the congregants to draw nearer to God, encouraging one another to pray even as they undertake their duties of protecting and defending the country.
“We must always remind ourselves to be faithful and truthful in prayers and remembering our men and women in uniforms, working selflessly to protect the country and humanity against our potential adversaries,” he said.
The bishop prayed and committed the new graduates to God’s grace, and urged them to continually seek God’s word, honour his command and serve God diligently with dedication and be observant of God’s teachings as is enshrined in the Bible.
The event was also attended by Assistant Chief of Defence Forces Personnel and Logistics Major General Muthuri Kiugu, General Officer Commanding Western Command, Major General David Tarus, Senior military Officers and officers.
