The Deputy Commander Kenya Air Force Brigadier Peter Githinji accompanied by Defence Forces Canteen Organisation (DEFCO) Managing Director Brigadier Albert Nderi, presided over commissioning of new vehicles for DEFCO at its Headquarters in Moi Air Base.
DEFCO was blessed to have 9 new vehicles including; 2 trucks, 2 vans and 5 saloon cars which will go a long way in aiding the organisation achieve it’s mission; to provide quality, efficient welfare services to the Kenya Defence Force (KDF) and their families and support their corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities.
Speaking during the event, Brigadier Githinji emphasised on the importance of growth to any organisation. He was proud of DEFCO’s enormous growth in both communication, technology and infrastructure.
“It is a great pleasure to be celebrating this milestone and achievement. DEFCO plays a key role as a premium service provider to the KDF fraternity. Without advancement an organisation can fail to satisfy it’s customers. Therefore, I would like to urge you to always aspire to grow,” he said.
On his part, Brigadier Nderi said that they were very happy and proud of their achievement. “Every organisation that moves ahead has a reason to smile and efficient transport is prudent to every business,” he said.
“The new fleets are a compliment to the exciting ones. We now have 29 vehicles and 1 motorcycle. We are grateful for the support we’ve received from Kenya Defence Forces,” he added.
Also present during the event were Officers, Service members and DEFCO staff members.
