LAIKIPIA AIR BASE HOLDS IT’S INAUGURAL OFFICERS CULTURAL DAY
It was pomp and colour at Laikipia Air Base (LAB) as Officers from the Base were treated to a first of a kind cultural day under the theme “Officers comradery through our cultures and pride”. The event was graced by Base Commander Wajir Air Base (WAB) Brigadier Stephen Sane.
The day whose aim was to showcase and celebrate cultural diversity in order to enhance bonding, saw the officers showcase their richly diverse cultures through donning of traditional attires, food, songs and dances.
Speaking during the event, Brig Sane expressed his sincere gratitude to everyone who was involved in the planning of the event.
“Culture is one of the critical things that we should emphasise on. It teaches us a lot and gives us value in everything we do as human beings. It reminds us of a history we can always learn from,” he said.
“Last but not least it brings togetherness, understanding and economic empowerment which helps us work together,” concluded BC WAB.
On his part, Base Commander LAB Brigadier Mohamud Farah expounded on the importance of understanding our diverse and multifaceted cultures.
“Acknowledging our unique backgrounds and histories fosters the bond between individual Officers and Service Members, enabling us to leverage each other’s strengths and establish a more cohesive community at Laikipia Air Base,” he said.
Also present during the event were ; Principal Defence Forces Technical College Brigadier Mohammed Ali, Senior Officers, Officers and their families.
