On Wednesday, 27 November 2024, Commander Kenya Air Force (KAF) Major General Fatuma Ahmed, presided over the graduation ceremony for the Ab-Initio Pilot Training Courses ACE 02 and ACE 04 (Fixed Wing) at the Aviation Centre of Excellence (ACE). The event marked a significant milestone for KAF as eight new pilots, including one female graduate and two Kenya Navy officers, successfully completed their training.
This historic achievement is the first time Kenya Navy officers have earned pilot brevets in KAF’s flying training history, highlighting an evolving inter-service collaboration. The rigorous program prepares pilots for mission readiness and operational roles, ensuring they meet national and regional security needs.
During the ceremony, Major General Ahmed presented pilot brevets and awarded certificates of merit to outstanding graduates. She emphasized the importance of integrity, professionalism, and continuous learning in aviation.
Lieutenant Colonel Dickson Kitur, Commandant of ACE, affirmed the readiness of the graduates and highlighted the Centre’s efforts to support other government agencies and regional partners. This aligns with strategic directives issued by H.E. Hon. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, during KAF’s 60th Anniversary celebrations.
As the Kenya Air Force continues to enhance its training capacity, ACE remains a cornerstone of KAF’s mission to uphold high standards and develop skilled aviators ready to lead and serve the nation effectively.
