KDF TROOPS PROVIDE WATER FOR LOCALS IN GARISSA

Kenya Defence Forces troops in Lamu continue to support the locals in Garissa County by distributing water in various locations in attempts to mitigate the effects of the ongoing drought in the region.

On Monday, 12 September 2022, the troops drawn from 5 Kenya Rifles Battalion (5KR) distributed over 20,000 litres of water to Wayamajibriil and Timass villages in which more than 800 locals benefited.

On 10th September 2022, the troops,  had also supplied 18,000 litres of water to the residents of Maalamin and Bulla hajir villages within the same county.

The Humanitarian Civic Assistance forms part of KDF’s secondary mission of assisting and cooperating with other authorities in situations of emergency or disaster.
