Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) Troops from 23 Ordinance Composite Company (OCC) visited Amani Children’s Home in Lanet, Nakuru County and donated assorted foodstuffs, mattresses, bedsheets and sanitary towels among other items.

Receiving the donations, the Director of the Children’s Home Mrs. Emma Muthui thanked the KDF troops for the rare gesture extended to them.

The institution’s Manager Mr. Danson Mwiti appreciated the great work done by the KDF towards defence of the nation and amid such a huge task, finding time to remember the needy.

The Officer Commanding Major Winstead Nyongesa thanked the institution management for the work they were doing in supporting the needy children, for allowing them to pay them a visit and for accepting the donations towards putting a smile on the faces of the young ones.

The soldiers spent quality time playing with the children, prepared a meal for them and interacted in song and dance during the visit. They also urged the children to work hard and succeed, indicating that their background does not dictate their future.
