KDF TROOPS ENGAGE IN A TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) troops based in Isiolo, this week, held a tree planting exercise within their barracks in conjunction with the Kenya Forest Service (KFS).

The exercise, aimed at improving the tree cover within the camp, is part of KDF’s Environmental Soldier Program effort by the Kenya Defence Forces.

Speaking during the function, KFS representative emphasized on the importance of restoring lost forests, caring for the available trees, repairing damaged ecosystems and mitigating climate changes through the increase of forest cover.

Over 1,200 trees were planted during the exercise.
