KDF TAKES PART IN MANGROVES TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

A KDF team led by Major Humphrey Sanders from the Kenya Army Corps of Transport on 6th and 7th October 2022 took part in planting over 30,000 Mangrove trees at Chudo Creek in Jomvu Kuu Area of Mombasa.

The tree planting exercise was conducted in partnership with the Kenya pipeline company, Kenya Forest Service, Bidii creek Community Conservancy, Greens of Africa Foundation and area residents.

The event which was presided over by the Foundation Manager for Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) Mrs. Bernice Lemedeket, applauded KDF for being at the forefront in the conservation of Mangrove Forest.

Planting trees is in line with KDF Environmental Soldier Programme’s goal of enhancing Kenya’s environmental security for a secure and prosperous future.
