Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) personnel from the Mechanised Infantry Brigade deployed at Moyale Forward Operating Base (FOB) for Close Operations led by the Officer Commanding Major Rowland Muchira participated in a blood donation exercise in collaboration with the Sub-County Hospital.
The donated blood will be used in the treatment of needy cases within Moyale and its environs especially during emergencies cases which shall bridge the gap already being experienced in the hospital.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the facility, Mr. Mohammed Abshiro thanked the KDF personnel for the kind gesture of boosting the blood bank whose volumes had declined.
“On behalf of this Hospital, the staff and by extension the local community, allow me to register our heartfelt gratitude to the KDF for the voluntary blood donation exercise. It is indeed a great service to humanity which will go a long way in saving the lives of needy and desperate medical cases and emergencies,” said the CEO.
Officers and service members were present during the exercise.
