The Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi on Tuesday, 12 July 2022, commissioned the Headquarters for Kenya Army Corps of Signal (KACS) and B Company 2nd Military Police Battalion buildings at Kahawa Garrison. The completion of the projects are part of KDF modernisation efforts.
While at the Garrison, the CDF also led the ground breaking ceremony for a modern Defence Forces Canteen Organization (DEFCO) shopping mall, which will serve KDF families in the vicinity of the Garrison. The function was attended by DEFCO Management Board, Officers, Service Members and their families.
Thereafter, General Kibochi inspected progress of ongoing projects, that included construction of Headquarters for School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (SEME) and the Defence Forces Constabulary (DFC).
The CDF reiterated the importance of the projects in sharpening the arrowhead, by provision of a standardised working environment and a well coordinated welfare system, that will ultimately contribute to overall morale of KDF personnel.
The CDF was accompanied by the Vice CDF, Service Commanders, Assistant CDF for Personnel and Logistics and Director Medical Services among other senior officers.
