KDF ASSISTS IN RETRIEVAL OF BODIES FROM COLLAPSED LATRINE

Kenya Defence Forces’ Disaster Response Battalion (DRB) assisted in a two-day multi-agency rescue operation over the weekend to retrieve five bodies of construction workers that were buried alive while constructing a pit latrine at the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA) Mukua Secondary School at Githunguri in Kiambu County.

DRB’s Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Elon Were participated in the operation alongside his Battalion 2nd in Command Major Charles Mulei with support from Kiambu County Police Commander Mr. Mungai Kioi.

The National Police Service, National Youth Service, Red Cross and the Kiambu County Fire Brigade also took part in the rescue operation.
