KAF PARTICIPATES IN A TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

Kenya Air Force (KAF) soldiers from Transport Aircraft Engineering Wing and Heli Wing participated in a tree planting exercise at Ngong hills in Kajiado North sub-county on Friday, 10th December 2021.

The event organised by the World Rally Championship was themed ’19 million trees in 19 years’ to commemorate the return of the Safari Rally after a 19 year’ absence.

Over 2000 trees were planted in conjunction with the Kenya Forest Service, Kenya Wildlife Service, World Rally Championship, Rotary Club, Raponi Gardens, Joram G. Academy (Ngong) as well as Ngong Township Primary and Secondary schools. KAF personnel also donated 1000 trees to the local community and schools.

Kajiado North Assistant County Commissioner Beth Sheba Osiemo thanked the Kenya Defence Forces for their continued effort towards actualizing environmental sustainability goals through the Environmental Soldier Program.
