Defence Principal Secretary Patrick Mariru has today opened a two-day team-building workshop for the Ministry’s Heads of Department in Naivasha to create synergy among participants and enhance their service delivery.
Mr. Mariru acknowledged the significant role each department plays and implored them to continue working with dedication and commitment saying no single department can operate devoid of the other.
“I am proud to be part of this great team that is steering the wheel of the Ministry forward. The few months I’ve been at the helm I have interacted with you in different capacities and I appreciate your invaluable input to the Ministry despite the complex nature of your work, we value your contribution,” said the PS.
The workshop is covering a variety of thematic topics among them barriers to personal and team success, reprogramming mindsets for personal and team success, and renewing team spirit among others.
“We all have the assignment to deliver, let us work hard and remain focused in our various departments remembering that you can only be as successful as your colleague,” the PS underscored.
Identifying a soldier as a” North Star,” the PS asked Heads of Department to come up with strategies that focused on providing support and administration services to Kenya Defence Forces which are the technical arms of the Ministry.
