DAY 2 OF THE EAC ARMED FORCES’ CIMIC WEEK

Today, 10 October 2021 marked the second day of the EAC Armed Forces’ CIMIC Activities Week. Medics from the Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) who are stationed at the Muumandu Health Centre in Machakos County continued attending to patients.

Lt Col Vincent Mogisha, the head of RDF delegation said that so far over 280 locals both adults and children have benefited from the medical camp. Among the services provided are Paedriatic clinic, gynaecology, dental, eye clinic, physician, general consultancy and laboratory services.

Residents from the area were grateful for the services from the RDF medics and EAC as a whole. This was echoed by Ms Winnie Too, the head of facility who said that they were lucky for the exercise to be conducted in the facility, adding that the pharmaceutical drugs donated to the health facility will go along way in assisting the local population.

The exercise that will end on 13th October 2021, will involve Armed Forces medics from Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda conducting free Medical Camps at Muumandu Level 3 hospital, Matuu Level 4 hospital, Oltepes dispensary, Ewaso Kedong Level 3 hospital, Mathare North dispensary, Babadogo dispensary and Kahawa West dispensary.
