COMMISSIONING OF CATHOLIC APOSTOLATES

Apostolic Administrator of Military Ordinariate of Kenya, Reverent (Col) Benjamin Maswili on Saturday presided over a liturgy for commissioning of 136 new mothers into Catholic Women Association (CWA) at Saint Peter and Paul Cathedral Headquarters in Nairobi.

CWA is an association to empower Catholic women spiritually, morally and socially for the purpose of evangelising to families and the society at large.

The participants drawn across the Kenya Defence Forces underwent a one year training where they were taken through morals, family upbringing , and faith related lessons geared towards promoting strong faith, commitment, teamwork and humility in the face of adversity.

In his sermon, Reverend Maswili noted that strong families do not just happen but are the result of deliberate intention, determination and practice. He urged the women to walk their families the journey of God, never tiring teaching their children good christian values and drawing nearer to God.

He at the same time encouraged the congregants to pray for gallant military men and women at the borders as they undertake their duties of defending the country against aggression.

“We must always remind ourselves to be faithful and truthful in prayers by remembering our men and women in uniforms at the periphery, working selflessly to protect the country and humanity against our potential adversaries,” he said.

Additionally, he prayed for harmony among KDF families and committed the new graduates to God’s grace, to serve Him diligently with dedication and be good ambassadors in their communities.
