COMMANDER KENYA ARMY VISITS BONI ENCLAVE

Commander Kenya Army, Lieutenant General Walter Koipaton, has concluded a three day visit to troops operating under Operation Amani Boni in Lamu County.

The visit included inspection of various projects currently being undertaken by KDF troops. Currently Kenya Army’s Engineers Brigade personnel are constructing, renovating and expanding Mangai Primary School to be the first ever boarding school in Boni Forest. Upon completion, Mangai Pimary School will provide conducive learning environment for students within Mangai and neighboring communities.

Speaking during the visit, the Commander was impressed with the efforts put by the Engineers Brigade in speeding up the construction and repair works.

“I want to encourage the forces operating within Boni Forest to remain steadfast and provide the much-needed secure environment that will ensure normalcy within the region,” said the Commander.

Additionally, he stated that KDF will construct a well to alleviate water shortages and as a means of ensuring sustainable source of water to the community.

During his visit he was accompanied by Chief of Personnel Headquarters Kenya Army Brigadier Mohamed Hassan, Commander Operation Amani Boni Colonel Meshack Kishoyian and Army Sergeant Major Warrant Officer Class One Samson Kariuki.
