COMMANDER KENYA ARMY END OF YEAR TOUR TO NAIROBI REGION

Commander Kenya Army Lieutenant General (Lt Gen) Peter Njiru toured Formations and Units based in Embakasi and Kahawa Garrisons in Nairobi. The visits are part of the Commander’s end of year routine visits aimed at affirming the troops commitment to mission readiness as they execute the Kenya Army mandate and boosting their morale as they continue with their respective duties.

Speaking during the visits, the Commander Kenya Army thanked and commended all the Formations and Units for their continued dedication and exceptional performance in their respective fields.

He applauded the troops for the hardwork and sacrifices they have shown throughout the year to ensure the country’s borders are defended from all land threats.

“I urge you to continue conducting yourselves with professionalism in any task assigned to you as you have done throughout the year. Be disciplined, courageous and dedicated in your duties and tasks, ” he said.

The Commander further noted that the Garrisons have various training institutions that undertake different courses and he urged the soldiers to continue equipping themselves with knowledge and skills to enable them conduct operations effectively.

“The objective of the training is to equip you with relevant combat skills and techniques as a pre-requisite for effective planning and execution of tasks,” he added.

Noting the value of Combat Service Support to mission delivery, Lt Gen Njiru congratulated the troops for their continued support to Combat Formation and urged them to continue with the good work in the coming year.

He further advised the troops on financial management adding that it is the right time for the soldiers to equip themselves with the right information on personal financial planning and management through DESACCO. He noted that the SACCO was established with the intent of uplifting KDF Service Personnel social economic well being.

Commander Kenya Army also took the opportunity to convey a message of goodwill and festive cheers to the soldiers from his the President of the Republic of Kenya and the Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces Excellency Dr. William Ruto and Chief of the Defence Forces General Francis Ogolla.
