Chief of the Defence Forces General Charles Kahariri has today presided over the signing of Performance Contracts for the 2024/2025 financial year by the Service Commanders, Defence Headquarters Directorates, and Defence Controlled Units (DCUs) at the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.
Performance Contracts provide a shared commitment among KDF leadership to come up with measurable targets and set parameters for fulfilling their obligations.
During the ceremony, General Kahariri noted that the contracts signed in the 21st cycle of the Kenya Defence Forces Performance Contract outlined the statement of responsibility and strategic intent upon which the KDF is to improve service delivery and accountability.
He underscored KDF’s obligation to demonstrate commitment to realizing ambitious and achievable objectives in the restoration of peace in areas affected by unrest, as well as assisting in situations of disaster.
The CDF called on the various departmental heads present to institutionalize a performance-oriented culture in their undertakings whilst deepening efficiency and ensuring resources are focused on the attainment of key priorities of Defence and security.
