Colonel Benedetta Kikechi is the new Commandant at the Defence Technical College (DEFTEC) taking over from Lieutenant Colonel (Dr) John Kisilu.
The handover took place at Embakasi Garrison in a ceremony presided over by the Base Commander Moi Air Base (MAB) Brigadier Samwel Kipkorir.
Brigadier Kipkorir congratulated the new DEFTEC Commandant, who was promoted and appointed Commandant in July 2021, and urged her to hit the ground running to achieve the institution’s vision and mission.
In her speech Col Kikechi said, “the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) leadership entrusted me to guide this institution to greater heights and that is exactly what I will do.”
DEFTEC is a premier institution affiliated to the National Defence University-Kenya (NDU-K), mandated to train technical manpower across the three KDF Services and allied forces.
