CELEBRATING BEAUTY AND STRENGTH IN DIVERSITY

The Joint Command and Staff College (JCSC) marked its Cultural Day under the theme ‘Celebrating the blending of Cultures in a Multicultural Society,’ at the College in Karen, Nairobi.

The annual event, filled with pomp and color, was aimed at showcasing colorful presentations of cultural exhibitions which included traditional attire, dances, and diverse cultural cuisine by the student officers.

Speaking during the event, the Commandant JCSC Major General Eric Kinuthia highlighted that the day was a testament that different nations can care, appreciate, and learn from each other. He was also commended the remarkable rich and diverse tapestry that was showcased throughout the day.

“It is through events like today that we celebrate the strength of diversity. I can attest there is beauty and strength in diversity. We need to reflect on the beauty which stands in the distinctiveness of every culture,” he added.

Guests had their best time as they were entertained by local, regional, and international cultural dances and songs.

Diverse cuisines drawn from 15 Countries which include; Kenya, Botswana, Burundi, Egypt, India, Malawi, Namibia, Nepal, Rwanda, Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, South Africa, and Sierra Leone were also availed for sampling. In addition, the Allied Countries made amazing presentations about their cultures.

The event was attended by the Honorary Consul General of Nepal, Jimmy Askar, Professor Anne Muigai, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Academic and Student Affairs National Defence University-Kenya, (NDU-K), Senior Directing Staff from the College, and Senior Military Officers.
