A BASKET OF HOPE

Close to a hundred families from Milimani and Mararani in Boni Forest, Lamu County, have a reason to smile after receiving assorted foodstuffs donations from KDF Muslim soldiers through the support of KDF Command.

The exercise was led by Lt. Col S Swaleh, Capt. Imam Hussein Ababa Tade, and Asst Chief Mararani Ijuu Ware. The families received assorted foodstuffs including maize flour, wheat flour, rice, cooking oil, and sugar.

Addressing the locals during the exercise, on behalf of Col. Principal Imam Abdulmalik Abdalla Rubeya, Lt. Col Swaleh conveyed a message of harmony during this month of Ramadhan when Muslims all over the world are exercising fasting, the fourth pillar of Islam. “As the holy month of Ramadhan is coming to an end, it’s my hope that it has boosted our spiritual discipline, purified our souls, and strengthened our family and community ties.” He said.

His sentiments were echoed by Capt. Hussein who urged the locals to strengthen their relationship with their creator and remain steadfast in their prayers even after Ramadhan.

The residents through their Asst Chief Ijuu Ware affirmed that KDF troops have been supportive through different projects that the troops have invested in the area, “We are grateful for the support you accord us since the inception of Operation Amani Boni. We offer is continuously collaborate with security agencies in the area in order to maintain peace and security for the economic development of the region. “ he said.
