KENYA DEFENCE FORCES HOLDS A FREE MEDICAL CAMP IN NANYUKI.

The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) conducted a free Medical Camp on Wednesday, 12th October 2022 at Likii Health Centre in Nanyuki as a precursor to the KDF DAY 2022.

KDF medics offered various medical services which included: General Outpatients services, Beyond Zero Cervical Cancer Screening, Dental treatment, Eye treatment, Child welfare & nutrition, Comprehensive Care Clinic (CCC) services and Health promotion talks.

The Officer in Charge, Lieutenant Colonel Julius Mghanga, said that the turn up was higher than expected and it was encouraging to assist fellow citizens.

Mr. Mark Maroko, the administrator at Likii Health Centre, thanked KDF for collaborating with the County Government to avail the free medical camp. He indicated, “the free medical camp has played a big role since most of the services offered here today were not available at the health center.”

Residents of Likii were grateful to KDF and appreciated the free medical services. Mr. Antony Munyiri, a local resident said, “it is difficult to get free medical services out there,” and requested KDF to do more free medical camps.

KDF also donated sanitary towels to Likii Primary School which acts as a rehabilitation centre for street children.

KDF Day is an annual event on the military’s calender to commemorate the valor and sacrifice of fallen heroes.
