ZAMBIAN DEFENCE STAFF COLLEGE DELEGATION VISITS KENYA

The Head of Delegation from Zambia Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), Colonel Crispine Munachilemba, on 30th September 2024, paid a courtesy call on Major General Fredrick Leuria, Assistant Chief of the Defence Forces in charge of Operation, Planning, Doctrine, and Training (ACDF OPD&T), at the Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Nairobi.

Colonel Munachilemba, the Chief Instructor at DSCSC, was accompanied by Directing Staff, Colonel Musumpuka and Zambian Defence Attaché Brigadier General Martin Mutali. He is leading a Zambian delegation of 27 faculty members and students from DSCSC on a 7-day study tour in Kenya. The group includes Zambian military and police officers, as well as officers from Rwanda, Lesotho, Zimbabwe, and Botswana.

During the meeting, Major General Leuria highlighted the strong ties between Kenya and Zambia, with collaboration in areas such as agriculture, tourism, ICT, and education. Colonel Munachilemba emphasized the significance of training exchanges in enhancing military relations between the two nations.

The delegation participated in an interactive session on Kenya’s national security and its approach to addressing security challenges. This session was moderated by Brigadier Paul Koech, Chief of Training at Defence Headquarters.

The delegation also visited the National Defence College and Joint Command and Staff Colleges in Karen, where they engaged in familiarization and interaction sessions.
