VICE CHIEF OF DEFENCE FORCES OBSERVES NATIONAL TREE PLANTING EXERCISE IN KAJIADO

The Vice Chief of the Defence Forces Lieutenant General Jonah Mwangi, observed the nationwide tree planting exercise in Kajiado West Technical and Vocational College in Kimuka, Kajiado West Constituency.

The event was in line with the government’s vision of combating climate change by planting 15 billion trees by 2032 which saw a total of 5,500 seedlings comprising of Acacia, Pines, Cyprus and assorted fruit trees planted at Ntashat Barracks and Kajiado West Technical and Vocational College. The local community were presented with over 500 fodder seedlings for planting in their homes.

The exercise brought together different government Ministries, Institutions and private organizations namely; Technical and Vocational Training Authority (TVETA), Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), National Gun Owners Association (NGAO), Equity Bank, Greens of Africa Foundation, The College fraternity, local leadership and Community.

In attendance were the TVETA Director General, Dr Kipkurui Langat, the Deputy Commander Kenya Air Force Brigadier Peter Githinji, Commander Special Operations Forces Command Brigadier John Njeru, the College Board Chairman Mr Peter Ole Matura, the Principal Dr Jane M’Ringera and Greens of Africa Foundation representative Ms Jedidah Wanyeki among other officials.
