SETAF-AF LEADERSHIP VISITS HUMANITARIAN PEACE SUPPORT SCHOOL

The leadership team of the Southern European Task Force in Africa (SETAF-AF), headed by Brigadier General John LeBlanc, Deputy Commanding General of SETAF-AF, and Colonel Adontis Atkins, Director of Signal Operations SETAF-AF, today March 4th, 2024, paid a visit to Colonel John Rongoei, Commandant of the Humanitarian Peace Support School at Embakasi Garrison in Nairobi.

During the briefing, the leadership team received a comprehensive overview of the HPSS and Exercise Justified Accord 2024 academic plan and given a tour of various syndicates. The Brigadier General commended JA24 participants for their outstanding efforts and encouraged them to maintain their team spirit to promote peace and support missions that contribute to sustainable peace and development in conflict-affected regions. He also emphasized that the knowledge gained during this Command Post Exercise should be shared with their units to benefit all.

During his remarks, Col. Rongoei, the Commandant HPSS expressed gratitude to the leadership team for their visit. He further emphasized that the visit continues to strengthen the already existing relations, particularly in the area of regional security. The commandant also acknowledged the shared commitment of Kenya and the US in dedicating time and resources to combat terrorism and promote lasting peace in the Horn of Africa.

Exercise Justified Accord 2024 aims to enhance regional security in East Africa, foster interoperability among multiple African units, and strengthen partner capacity to counter harmful influence, aggression, and other security challenges.
