SENIOR AND JUNIOR LEADERSHIP COURSE TRAINING COMMENCES

Deputy Commander Kenya Navy Brigadier Yahya Abdi today, presided over the opening ceremony of Senior and Junior Leadership Courses in Mariakani, Kilifi County.

The aim of the leadership courses is to improve and equip the Non-Commissioned Officers with requisite knowledge and skills in Leadership, Command and Management necessary to conduct duties in their various areas of deployment.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, Brigadier Abdi noted that leadership courses are tailored to give soldiers knowledge and skills that shape their leadership and management.

“I urge you to give your best to understand the concepts taught and strive for self-improvement. You have different experiences out of your various deployments and if appropriately utilised will create synergy”.
He also encouraged the soldiers to learn from each other and share knowledge.

The Commandant Kenya Naval Training College Lieutenant Colonel Javan Makunda welcomed the SLC and JLC participants to their respective courses. He stated that the courses are important milestones not only for their careers but also in their general life, for it will shape their thinking and consequently their decision making processes as they engage in various learning activities.

“When taken as a whole, these courses will shape your future social and professional life aspects in terms of competencies and skills gained,” said the Commandant.

The course participants were also reminded to work hard and maintain discipline.

Present during the course opening ceremony were Senior Officers, Officers and Service Members.
