Peace and Security remain a concern for the East African Community Regional Force (EACRF) as the force enhances operations in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
The Kenyan Contingent and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Congo (FARDC) troops under EACRF conducted security patrols in Ndosho, Ketshero, Mugunga and Nzulo areas.
The troops interacted with the local population who appreciated their efforts towards the restoration of peace and stability for socioeconomic prosperity. The troops identified medical support and improvement of learning institutions as a need in the area.
EACRF continues to engage state and non-state actors to offer humanitarian assistance to the local population where gaps are identified. The force appreciates the welcome, support and collaboration it continues to receive from the local population in the ongoing joint efforts to restore normalcy in the region.
The regional force is mandated to support the FARDC and operate jointly towards finding a lasting solution to the Eastern DRC conflict.
