ROYAL COLLEGE OF DEFENCE STUDIES VISIT TO DHQ

A 17-member delegation from the Royal College of Defence Studies (RCDC), led by their Defence Attaché, Brigadier Oliver Bryant, visited the Defence Headquarters in Nairobi.

The visit commenced with Brigadier Bryant paying a courtesy call to the Vice Chief of Defence Forces, Lieutenant General John Omenda. The primary objective was to acquaint the delegation with Kenya’s perspective on national security and its responses to various threats.

The Royal College of Defence Studies is a senior college of the Defence Academy of the United Kingdom (UK), established in 1927. It aims to develop strategic thinkers and leaders within the armed forces and civil services, preparing individuals to work at the highest ranks and in strategic roles across government and international environments.

Kenya and the UK have enjoyed strong bilateral relations over the years, with extensive cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, tourism, and defence and security. This includes joint efforts in anti-piracy, counter-terrorism, and combating climate change, among other initiatives.

The event was attended by several key personnel, including Colonel Training, Colonel Kelius Mwadime, Colonel Systems Land, Colonel Lawrence Ntoyai, Chief of Research, Doctrine and Training Evaluation, Brigadier Stephen Huria, Chief of Audit, Brigadier Charles Mwazighe, Chief of Compensation and Welfare, Brigadier John Khaoya, and Chief of Legal DHQ, Brigadier Yvonne Kerubo.
