Operation Amani Boni Commander, Brigadier Jattani Gula, held a Key Leadership Engagement meeting with His Excellency Issa Timamy, the Governor of Lamu County, on ways to bolster peace and security efforts in the county.
During the meeting, the Commander introduced the Chief of Staff of Operation Amani Boni, Mr. Wilberforce Kilonzo who recently took over his role, representing National Government Administration Officers (NGAO) at the Multi Agency Command Centre in a bid to energize a Whole of the Government Approach model in the operation.
The Governor expressed appreciation on behalf of residents of Lamu County for the efforts so far made by the National Government to secure the County as well as for the continued Civil Military Cooperation initiatives from the Kenya Defence Forces.
The Governor further noted that the residents and visitors enjoyed a very peaceful festive season last year as well as the beginning of 2024. He expressed gratitude and called on the Brigadier Gula and his team to keep up the good work of restoring peace and tranquillity in the County.
He pledged his commitment to continue working with the National Government for the people of Lamu and its neighboring counties.
