Multi-agency troops comprising of KDF and NPS deployed under ‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ North Rift has intensified joint dominating patrols in the general areas of Naudo, Akwichatis, Silale and Paka Hills in Baringo County.
During the patrol, the troops, in collaboration with the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC), conducted a Key Leadership Engagement(KLE), which saw over 30 elders attend with the main agenda being security.
The multi-agency security team also distributed clean water and food stuffs as well as administered medical services to the residents. The local population appreciated the security team’s effort towards the restoration of peace and stability for socioeconomic prosperity.
Speaking during the patrol, Officer Commanding, Major David Wema, reassured the locals of government’s commitment to restoring peace in the region and called for collective efforts in addressing the banditry menace which have adversely affected the region.
Also to note, the troops managed to recover 15 stolen livestock through the assistance of local administration and the elders. The heightened joint patrols and Key Leadership Engagement continue to have a positive impact as normalcy is witnessed in the region.
