OMU TROOPS PARTICIPATES IN THE NATIONAL TREE PLANTING DAY

‘Operation Maliza Uhalifu’ troops deployed in Mukutani FOB in conjunction with the locals participated in the National Tree Planting Day at Mukutani in Baringo County

The exercise which is in line with the National Government’s agenda to plant fifteen billion trees by 2032 saw KDF, GSU, KPS, RDU, KFS, KPR and the Locals plant over 5,000 tree seedlings.

The Commanding Officer commended both the troops and the local community for their combined efforts, emphasizing their crucial role in the successful execution of the government’s initiative. He acknowledged that the exercise is part of a broader national strategy to counteract the impacts of climate change in the country. Additionally, the Commanding Officer praised the peace-oriented locals for their role in promoting harmony in the region and for maintaining a positive relationship with the security apparatus.

The event not only aligns with the government’s ambitious tree-planting agenda but also underscores the significance of collaboration between the security and local communities in addressing both environmental and security concerns.
