NAIROBI GARRISON DOMINATES CDF BORA CUP BOXING CHAMPIONSHIP

The highly contested Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Boxing Championship (Bora Cup) enters it’s second day today 15 March 2023 with Nairobi Garrison dominating the 16 bouts match, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata.

Corporal Kelvin Maina from Nairobi Garrison gave his team an early lead after beating Senior Private Omar Mwingi of Kenya Navy Mtongwe, in the first round of the match.

Senior Private Victor Otieno from the 8th Brigade was unfortunately disqualified after an intense match against silver medalist Lance Corporal Victor Odhiambo from Nairobi, landing him an automatic victory to the disappointment of Otieno’s fans.

Notable 2022 Africa Boxing Championship Silver medalist Senior Private Samuel Njau clinched a spot to the finals after thrashing Senior Private Denis Mwendwa of Kahawa Garrison.

The climax and the finals of the championship takes place tomorrow at the Ulinzi Sports Complex – Lang’ata.
