On September 10th, 2024, Major General Muthuri Kiugu, Commandant of the Kenya Military Academy (KMA), inaugurated a multi-functional trainer at the Academy’s training ground in Lanet, Nakuru County.
The new trainer will allow numerous trainees to participate in various physical activities simultaneously, promoting progressive body strengthening.
During the event, Major General Kiugu encouraged Physical Training Instructors to embrace modern exercise techniques to keep up with current fitness trends. He commended them for their dedication, professionalism, and discipline in shaping the cadets’ physical fitness, underscoring the importance of regularly using the facility to produce well-rounded soldiers.
The Commandant highlighted KMA’s vital role in the Kenya Defence Forces, emphasizing its mandate to train mission-ready soldiers effectively. He also acknowledged the Defence Forces Technical College (DEFTEC) for providing technical expertise during the construction of the trainer.
The event was attended by Deputy Commandant and Chief Instructor Brigadier Peter Kimondiu, along with the Academy’s faculty and staff.
