Defence Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale has today hosted the Chief of Staff and the Head of Public Service Mr. Felix Koskei who paid him an office visit at the Ministry of Defence (MoD) in Nairobi. While at the Headquarters Mr Koskei also held a closed-door meeting with the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) General Robert Kibochi.
He further attended a briefing on various operations and programs of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the Ministry of Defence was engaged in nationally, regionally and globally. In his company during the visit were Principal Secretary MoD, Mr. Patrick Mariru, Vice Chief of Defence Forces (VCDF) Lt Gen Francis Ogolla, Service Commanders, General Officers, Heads of Department in the Ministry of Defence and senior military officials.
The Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service also toured the Strategic Communications (StratCom) Branch where he was received by the Chief of the Branch, Brigadier Zipporah Kioko.
At StratCom, he was introduced to the KDF Information Operations outlook and the Kenya Defence Force’s Studio. Where he participated in messaging in the end of week, Friday News Bulletin.
The official visit culminated with a luncheon after, a walk at the upcoming Welfare Centre which houses the post-modern Defence Forces Canteen Organization (DEFCO) Mall.
At the DEFCO Outlet, Mr Kosgei enjoyed a guided tour by its Managing Director Brigadier Albert Nderi.
At the Welfare Centre, the Chief of Staff was further briefed on the ongoing construction of places of worship among them the Anglican Church, Roman Catholic Church and a Mosque.
Mr.Koskei appreciated the significant role KDF continues to play and wished every soldier good tidings in their endeavour to deliver on the Ministry of Defence mandate.
